Windows XP Migration

After April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect your PC. Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date. (If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you will continue to receive anti-malware signature updates for a limited time, but this does not mean that your PC will be secure because Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates to help protect your PC.)

If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.

Windows XP Migration Service

If you are still running XP, then our advice would be to move to a modern operating system such as Windows 7 or Windows 8.

We can help you with the migration process and offer personalised One on One training via our Tech Tutorservice.

Bring your XP machine into us and we'll assess it for you. Some computers that are running Windows XP are capable of running Windows 7 with some upgrades but you are better looking at a new or refurbished laptop or desktop rather than upgrading you existing computer.

We can transfer your pictures, music, documents, emails (depending on what you use) etc but NOT programs. If you are a business running Windows XP then you really must move to a modern OS such as Windows 7 or Windows 8. Otherwise you will fail to meet Compliance and/or Data protection requirements.
