A Review of Sea Empire (Android Game)
24 Thursday November, 2011

As self confessed gaming geeks, not only do we harbour a deep rooted passion and interest in all things computer and console gaming, but we also enjoy gaming on our smart phones.
Four of the computer engineers all have Android phones so it should come as no surprise read this article from Donald, who is our Chief Computer Engineer,  about his current favourite Android game

A Review of Sea Empire from Blueplop Android Game, By a Gamer for Gamers

On a recent late night foray into the Android market I was fancying a bit of warfare, naval style! picture of Sea Empire title screenAfter scrolling past a few hundred battleships clones I came across Sea Empire. As usual there is an ad supported free version and an ad-free paid version. The differences end there though; both versions have the complete game.

You could say I failed in my search as this game has no warfare but rather it’s focused on resource gathering and base building.

The basic premise involves sending your boats out to other islands to gather three basic resources wood, stone and iron. These can then be used, sold or refined to create other resources.

There are three game modes:

Campaign follows a vague storyline and are quite difficult.
Map are pre-set levels with trying difficulty
Random map generator.

All three follow the same 'get this much resources or that many fortresses within the time frame' formula.

Achievements are tracked via the ever popular 'feint' system although some will be extremely difficult to achieve.

In summary: a nice little diverting game which is quite challenging.

Time to complete - 1-2 weeks
Boredom Point - on completion

Pro's
Low phone requirements
Easy to play
Difficult to master

Con's
Lacks longevity
Needs cannons!

Charges Are Very Reasonable
